Teaching in an Online World
What does a “traditional” classroom look like today? From lecture to activity-based and from in-class to online, there is no one way to define a classroom. And, the definition or needs may change depending on the subject, topic, and student population. The goal is to find a way to incorporate the most effective pieces or offer alternative approaches to reach as many students as possible. This presentation will breakdown some of the more common approaches and look at ways to integrate different learning styles into one cohesive course.
Bio: Louise Krmpotic earned her Bachelor and Masters of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, Canada and a Bachelor of Education from Althouse College, the Faculty of Education at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. At Maplesoft, Mrs. Krmpotic has been involved with several key initiatives, including product development, training and content development. With her background in education and training, she provides a pedagogical viewpoint to product direction discussions. She has presented at numerous conferences and outreach programs on using technology in education, and has led in-depth training sessions at colleges and universities across North America.
