From concept to reality - A framework to assess blockchain use cases for real world implementation
This will be a high level presentation to help attendees assess blockchain through a basic framework. The flow will be as follows:
Slide 1 - What is a blockchain and what makes it unique relative to other types of databases
. . . now that we know what blockchain is, how do I know if my idea could benefit from blockchain or not?
Slide 2 - What are some key criteria that can help determine whether or not a blockchain is a suitable enabling technology for your use case
. . . now that we've found a suitable use case that blockchain could enable, how do we make it a reality
Slide 3 - Start with the protocol layer. What are the design and resource requirements needed for the solution?
Slide 4 - Next, assess the network layer needs. What are the system integration requirements, storage requirements, regulatory requirements along with who will read and write to the blockchain?
Slide 5 - Close with the application layer. Who will use your solution? How will they use it? Will it require a behavioral change? Are you additive or competitive to current market place offerings.
Slide 6 - Close with common mistakes I see in the space.
I am leveraging a framework from an Oxford Blockchain programme I tutor and will weave in my experience with true tickets as well as my broader experiences to support some of the perspectives.
