The Current Role of a Traditional Textbook in a Modern Secondary Classroom
The role of the mathematics textbook in classroom instruction as a primary resource has changed dramatically in the last 20 years. Each panelist will discuss how this change has impacted lesson development, and instruction in different grade level courses and what resources are currently being used to support student learning. This will include curated online resources, digital learning tool, custom created worksheets and learning packages. All of this while we strive to reduce our paper usage and become essentially paperless in our approach.

Hillary Giles - Masters of Mathematics for Teachers (MMT), BSc. Honours Math & Stats, Honours Specialists in Mathematics . Hilary has been teaching for 12 years and is the Dept. Head of Mathematics at Bishop Ryan C.S.S. Hillary has been awarded the HWCDSB Directors Award for teaching - 2020.
Richard White - BSc. Math & Stats, Honours Specialists in Mathematics. Richard has been teaching for 30 years and is the recipient of the Prime Minister's Award - Certificate of Achievement - Teaching Excellence in STEM 2023.
