reTeXt is an XML-based system for authoring textbooks in multiple formats. I will briefly describe the system, its philosophy, and some of its advantages. I will also discuss how I got started with PreTeXt, why I've stuck with it, and why I think you should use it, too.

Bio

Sean Fitzpatrick is an Instructor in mathematics at the University of Lethbridge. He earned his PhD at the University of Toronto, and came to U of L by way of Mount Allison, Berkeley, and Western. During his time at U of L, Sean has devoted most of his efforts towards supporting and promoting open technologies for teaching, including PreTeXt, WeBWorK, and Jupyter.
