An important part of geometric analysis is to construct canonical geometric structures on a manifold . the geometric structure is built either on the topology or the complex structure or the symplectic structure of the manifold.

The canonical structure can be a metric on the manifold or a connection on a bundle over the manifold. In this lecture, i will explain the history of construction of canonical Hermitian connection over a holomorphic bundle over a complex manifold.
