Commercializing quantum research
Samantha Goodspeed is the Program Coordinator for the University of Toronto’s Early Stage Technology Program (UTEST, https://utest.to/contact/). She will provide an overview of the support available for researchers transitioning into entrepreneurship through the Innovations and Partnerships Office and UTEST. Additionally, she will share insights on the evolving market for quantum technologies.
Isi Caulder, a UofT alum (Elect Eng B.A.Sc. and M.A.Sc. and JD) and principal at Smart & Biggar LP, https://www.smartbiggar.ca/people/bio/isi-caulder), will be discussing how intellectual property (IP) can aid the early stage deeptech venture journey. She will provide examples of the different kinds of IP and highlight the top 5 IP mistakes an early stage company can make when “moving fast”.
