We will present a new derivation of the KPZ fixed point, which yields a new formula for its fixed-time law starting from differentiable initial conditions. We will compare the new formula with the original formula by Matetski, Quastel and Remenik. Time permitting, we will also present some conjectures. This is joint work with Balint Virag.
